The basics
What it is and how it works.
It's actually quite simple. Go to the homepage and start typing — whatever you type is saved automatically and instantly available on every device under the same network. You can upload files too. If your devices are not on the same network, you can link them in a few seconds from Settings.
If your savr contains URLs, we scan them and show you a clickable list — so you can tap a link instead of copying and pasting it into the address bar. Not a fan? You can turn the feature off completely in Settings.
Your font size is probably set too low — sometimes it ends up at 0. Open Settings and pick a comfortable font size.
You could use an ad blocker, but there is no need: open Settings and switch ads off. The setting applies to every device on your network — no dark patterns, we mean it.
You've probably heard it many times — if it's free, you're the product. That is not the case here. Simple.Savr has always been free; we run ads but let you turn them off, and everything you save is encrypted. There are not many free and great things these days. We are not interested in your data or your files. We just want to help you a little :)
Files & uploads
Limits, lifetimes, and where things go.
You can upload a total of 1000 files, and each file must not be larger than 3500 MB. This limit may differ between users. Need more? Contact Us and we will raise it for you at no cost.
We cap uploads so a few heavy users can't ruin a free service for everyone. If you genuinely need more, Contact Us — raising your limit is quick and free.
Devices & networks
Linking devices across networks.
If a device is on a different network (say, your phone on mobile data), you can link it to your savr in seconds:
- On a device that already sees your savr, open Settings and go to Link Devices.
- Generate a link code — you will get a QR code and an 8-character code.
- On the other device, scan the QR code, or open the link page and type the code.
That's it — the new device now sees the same savr and files. Codes are single-use and expire after 5 minutes, so generate a fresh one if you run out of time.
Of course! That is exactly what device linking is for — see linking a device. Link the device once and your text and files follow you across both networks. You can also link a network manually by entering its IP address under Settings > Link Devices.
There can only be one reason behind this: IP mismatch. Make sure all your devices are on the same Wi-Fi network — you can open Debug on both devices and compare the IP addresses shown. If they differ, don't worry: link the device from Settings and both will see the same savr. If the IPs match and your savr still isn't showing up, please Contact Us.
Secret notes
Self-destructing, zero-knowledge messages.
A secret note is a self-destructing message for anything sensitive — a password, a key, a message meant for one pair of eyes. It is encrypted in your browser before it leaves your device, and the decryption key lives only in the share link. Send the link to anyone; once it burns, it's gone for good.
Open the Secret Note page and scroll down to "Notes you created" — every still-live note you made from this device is listed there, with its status and a destroy button. We can never show you the contents: notes are end-to-end encrypted and the key lives only in the link you copied. Once a note burns or expires, it disappears from the list too.
Privacy & security
Encryption, passwords, and who sees what.
Anyone under your IP address — plus any devices or IP addresses you have linked. On a shared network (an office, a dorm, a coffee shop) that can mean other people, so password-protect your savr from Settings if you want it to be yours alone.
You can reset your password from Debug. Be aware: resetting deletes your savr and uploaded files (your settings are kept). We cannot recover a password-protected savr — that is the point of the protection.
