Frequently Asked Questions
You’ve probably heard it many times — if it’s free then you’re the product. However, that is not the case with us. Simple.Savr has always been free, and while we run ads, we do not force it on you. We allow you a simple way to disable ads on all your devices. We encrypt your files and text securely.
But why?Because there are not many free and great things these days. We are not interested in your data or your files. We just want to help you a little :)
We have limited the max number of files you can upload. If you want to raise that, feel free to Contact Us.
If you have some URLs in your savr, we scan and show you a list of all URLs in your savr which are clickable. This way, you can easily click the URLs instead of copying and pasting it into the address bar. We are all about customization, so you are free to turn this feature completely off from settings if you'd like.
We have limited the max number of files you can upload. If you want to raise that, feel free to Contact Us (don't worry, it will be free!).
Files are automatically deleted every 7 days. If you just uploaded files recently and cannot find them, please ensure that the IP address is the same on both devices.
You can upload a total of 300 files and each file must not be larger than 50 mb. Please note that this limit may not be the same for all users. We used to allow unlimited files with a max size of 50 mb per file, but some people like to abuse free things and ruin it for everyone else. However, if you need to upload more files or increase the max file size, please contact us and we will be happy to set it for you at no cost!
If you cannot see what you are typing, you either have poor vision or the font size is too low. Sometimes the font size is set to 0, so please go to settings and change the font size to something else.
You can use an AdBlocker, but there is no need for that. You can simply go to settings and disable ads from there.
It's actually quite simple. Just go to the homepage start typing. Whatever you type is automatically saved and instantly available across all your devices under the same network. You can also upload files. If your devices do not have the same IP addresses, you can easily add it from your settings!
You are able to reset your password. However, your savr and uploaded files will be deleted as a result. Your settings will not be affected. If you would like to reset your password, please go to Debug.
You do not need to take a note of your Encryption text. It is randomly generated if you have not provided your own encryption code. We encrypt your savr using an advanced algorithm which uses the default or user-provided encryption text.
We encrypt your savr before storing it in our database using a random string. We then use this random string to decrypt your savr so that we can present it to you when you visit this site. You can enter your own string to encrypt and decrypt your savr or you can leave the encryption text field blank in settings. If you leave it blank, we will automatically create a random string to encrypt and decrypt your savr.
There can only be one reason behind this, and that is IP mismatch. Please ensure that you are under the same WiFi network on all your devices. You can go to Debug from both your devices and see if the IP address on both devices are the same. If the two IP's are not the same, don't worry. You can go to Settings and add that IP so both IP's can now view and edit your savr. If you believe that your IP address is the same on all your devices and your savr is still not showing up, please Contact Us.
Your savr and uploaded files can be viewed and edited by anyone that is under your IP Address. If you have linked additional IP addresses to your IP, they will also be able to view your savr and uploaded files. You can prevent others from viewing your savr and uploaded files by password-protecting your savr.
Whatever you type is instantly saved as you type, and is available across all your devices that are under the same IP Address. You will see a little check mark if it has been saved.
If we accepted registrations, the entire purpose of being able to simply create and share files and text (savr) would be defeated.
